Preparing for Sunday: Mar. 26th, 2017 | “The Mission Belongs to the Lord”

“Discernment is not a matter of simply telling the difference between right and wrong; rather it is telling the difference between right and almost right.”

– Charles Spurgeon

This Sunday, we continue in Acts 15 and witness the Pauls’ first missionary journey, the remarkable conversion of Lydia, and the beginning of the founding of the Philippian Church. The sermon for this Sunday is titled  “The Mission Belongs to the Lord.” We hope this bulletin excerpt will be helpful to you in preparation for Sunday, as you read and pray, and prepare your heart for Worship.

First Scripture Text: Romans 12:1-8

Sermon Text: Acts 15:36-16:15

A Prayer for Today: “Grant, we beseech you, Almighty God, that we, who for our evil deeds do worthily deserve to be punished, by the comfort of your grace may mercifully be relieved; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.” (BCP 1662 –The Third Sunday in Lent)

Music: “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”

This song will take place in the service while the children are still upstairs. We encourage families to practice the hymns together leading up to Sunday.

Reflect:

“It is not that God is the spectator and sharer of our present life, howsoever important that is; but rather that we are the reverent listeners and participants in God’s action in the sacred story, the history of the Christ on earth.”

– Dietrich Bonhoeffer
